AEROSMITH
Devil's Got a New Disguise: The Very Best Of
Columbia Records 2006

What’s the 4-1-1?
Boston Bad Boys are back! (Sort Of)
Genre
Blues rock / classic rock
The Good
The 2 new songs "Sedona Sunrise" and the title track are really
excellent but that's not enough to make me recommend this to you.
The remainder 16 tracks are the "Best of" part including the usual
suspects like "Dream On," "Sweet Emotion," "Rag
Doll, "Janie's
Got A Gun," "Crazy," "Cryin," "I Don' Want
to Miss A Thing," and "Jaded."
The Bad
Why does Aerosmith need to continuely give us either subpar new material
or a "Best Of" package?
This is the fourth package of it's kind that the band has released within
the last 10 years! It's a little overkill if you ask me.
I really like this band but they haven't released a decent new studio album
since "Nine Lives". I wished they just take the time and write
a
new album in the vein of the 2 new songs included in this package than
put out yet another "Best Of" or "Greatest Hits" package.
This is getting a little tiresome to waste my money on a collection
of songs I can get elsewhere in a better package like"
O Yeah! - Ultimate Aerosmith" that was released a couple of years
ago. Dishing out $15 is a waste of money for only 2 new songs.
And there are no songs from the aforementioned "Nine Lives" or "Honkin'
On Bobo".
Heck, even one of their biggest songs of the late 80's is missing from
this collection the excellent ballad "Angel!" This is
not "The Very Best Of" without the inclusion of this
song.
The Verdict
Buy other Aerosmith albums and skip this as i'm sure the 2 new songs from
this will surface on yet another collection down the road.
Did You Know?
Alicia Silverstone, Liv Tyler, Ben Affleck and Mila Kunis have all appeared
in Aerosmith videos.
