What's the 4-1-1?
Blissed returns with their sophomore effort.
Genre
Hard rock / melodic
The Good
“Superhero” isn’t so much a story of those with special powers
saving the world; it’s more about how we all have the potential to
be everyday heroes. Ominous drum beats and descending guitar riffs lead the
charge on “Monster.” The album’s title track “Corrosive” has
a catchy, sing-along style chorus. “Run” is a vocal heavy track
with plenty of emotional lyrics delivered by David Pearson. “Get Up” is
a ‘do something with yourself’ anthem meant to inspire. Chunky
faded guitar riffs and determined vocals help drive the message of “Getting
Better” home. Blissed gets unplugged for the heart wrenching ballad “Bittersweet.”
The Bad
Most of the songs don’t break mid-tempo. Lacks slightly in the production
and diversity departments.
The Verdict
While I wouldn’t classify Corrosive as anything more than average,
Blissed does deliver a classic melodic hard rock sound for the modern day.
Did You Know?
Blissed shot 6 music videos in support of Corrosive.
