What’s the 4-1-1?
Formerly known as The Shitheadz (The X-Heads in America), the reinvented
German metallers come out swinging with their Motorjesus debut.
Genre
Heavy metal / hard rock
The Good
Motorjesus start things off with the anthemic track “Legion of Rock.” The
song is laced with melodic yet booming vocals. The bluesy guitar soloing surprisingly
complements the monster riffs. Snarling vocals mixed with driving riffage dominate “Destroyer.” There’s
a mellow break section that gives way to impressive six string soloing. The
album’s title track “Deathrider” is full of energy, chunky
riffs, and blood-thirsty vocals. I can’t stress enough that Motorjesus
can construct some damn catchy choruses.
The dual guitar attack of Guido Reuss
and Andreas Peters is unstoppable on the super-charged track “The Howling.” Rapid-fire
licks go head-to-head with Chris Brix’s vocal melodies on the chorus. “The
Undertaken” sets a dark and ominous tone with acoustic guitars and low-tone
vocals. The chorus kicks in with electric distortion and strong vocals. “Black
Fuel Dominations” cranks the amps up to 11 with riffs of fury and a double-kick
drum attack.
The Bad
Nothing
The Verdict
Motorjesus’ latest album is a heavy metal death ride that no true metal
fan will want to get off. Memorable riffs, progressions, and lyrical melodies.
