The Good
This is simply the most enjoyable Motorhead release overall in the last 15
years. From the powerhouse opener "Sucker" to the closer "R.A.M.O.N.E.S." Motorhead
take you on a sonic journey with a batch of excellent tunes that'll leave
you wanting more! This album has more melody than just about any other
of their previous efforts but at the same time will still crack your skull
with tracks like "Devil I Know," "Kingdom Of The Worm," and "Going
Down" There is a great ballad "God Was Never On Your Side" that Lemmy actually showed some true heartfelt
emotion on.
I am still in awe that Lemmy can still write catchy rock & roll
tunes like "Christine," "One Night Stand," and "Trigger" as
I haven't heard these kind of songs from him since the albums "1916" and "March
Or Die." Don't get me wrong, he
has come close but fell just a tad short of this style on the album Hammered.
In conclusion, this album has a ton of songs you can sing along to as well
as some
experimentation in the modern metal style but it's all Motorhead.
The Bad
There's only 13 songs on this release. Lemmy's voice is still abrasive.
The Verdict
Not just another Motorhead release, but rather their best colloection of
songs since March Or Die. Very impressive!
Did You Know?
Triple H (WWE Superstar) is good friends with Lemmy and has used Motorhead
to play his entrance themes and has
appeared on a Motorhead album performing a duet with Lemmy?
