What’s the 4-1-1?
U.K. boys Bullet For My Valentine release their latest effort The
Poison.
Genre
Metalcore
The Good
"Her Voice Resides" embraces some catchy guitar melodies that sound
pretty good. "4 Words (to choke upon)" accommodates well done drum
and guitar parts that flow together. The screams in this song are acceptable.
The singing chorus however, well...that’s for the listener to decide.
I think it fits with the song, although it could sound better. This song
is the "best" song on the album in my opinion.
The Bad
Even though I mentioned "Her Voice Resides" in the above part,
there is still something that needs to be mentioned in this section. The
singing chorus of the song is poor. It really shouldn't be there at all
and ruins the entire song because of that. Getting further along in the
song, there will be a lyrical part
"
Where is my angel, I need her now."
....how cheesy is that? It is god-awful. "Tears Don't Fall" is
just mellow and boring. "Suffocating Under Words of Sorrow (what can
I do)" is another one of the dry songs with nothing exciting or interesting
about it. "Hit the Floor" and "All these Things I Hate" contain
both the same characteristics...they are too mellow and it makes them sound
like crap!
The Verdict
Only one good song on an album, you've got to be kidding, right? WRONG! It's
the truth folks; this cd only offers one good song as far as I am concerned.
The rest of the songs are so lame, both musically and without a doubt lyrically,
that is pitiful. How can someone stand to listen to this album again? I
was not impressed with this album at all and I don't think the listeners
will be either. Unless they are 12 year mall kids.
