What’s the 4-1-1?
Ex-Tyketto vocalist returns with a follow-up to 2005’s From
the Inside project.
Genre
Melodic rock / AOR
The Good
The introduction to the opening track “Miracle Days” helps perpetuate
the American Indian theme with its tribal chants and melodies. The track
quickly turns into an inspirational melodic rocker. “Badlands Rain” is
full of power and vocal melody. The guitars lean a little toward the metal
side of things, especially during the solo. The album’s title track “Traveller” mixes
acoustic guitars with subtle electric tones. The song can serve as a metaphor
for a musician’s life on the road.
“That What She Says” is
a mid-tempo rocker that acts both playful and somewhat critical of the female
for whom it is referring to. To make up for any unwanted criticism, Vaughn
follows-up with the tender ballad “The Touch of Your Hand.” The
track “Lifted” flexes lots of emotion and passion in both its
lyrics and delivery. “The Warrior’s Way” harkens back to
Danny’s metal roots with Tyketto. This has to do with the heavy riffage
and fiery solos. Danny’s vocals and songwriting skills really shine
on “Think of Me in the Fall.”
The Bad
Nothing
The Verdict
Every musician claims “this is the best album of my career.” Danny
makes this claim in the press materials. It was nice to see and hear that
his boastful statement was nothing but factual. Great job! An AOR masterpiece.
Did You Know?
Tyketto took their name from a graffiti tag that was found on a Brooklyn
wall.
