5 Questions with...

soular system
Cory Morgenstern of SOULAR SYSTEM
www.soularsystem.com

1. If I knew absolutely nothing about Soular System, how would you describe the group’s music to me?
-- Soular System is a power trio consisting of Drums, Bass/Vocals and Guitar/Vocals that performs a combination of Original hard rocking material as well as Blues standards and R & R Covers.

2. If I were to buy your new album Big Bang, what songs should I pay particular attention to and why?
-- [The album] has several different styles of R & R on it. Some of our favorites are "If At First U Don't Succeed" which was included in a compilatiohn on the
independent Garagista label, and also Spinning My Wheels which received a lot of internet airplay as well as the album title track Big Bang. As a matter of fact, all 12 songs on the album received the same amazing attention to detail and production values so there is no "filler".

3. When and where did the band form, and where did the name come from? -- The band was formed 2 years ago by Cory Morgenstern and the name was conceived in the spirit of Led Zeppelin, Iron Butterfly, Strawberry Alarm Clock as a Organic/Inorganic or Spiritual/Material name.

4. What was your worst on stage experience? What was your best?
-- Our worst was showing up for the Rolling Rock National Original Band Contest where there was supposed to be a full equiptment setup and the clowns that were running the contest had moved the equiptment to another club without telling 3 bands!!! We played thru the P.A. system and still won 1st place for the night! I guess that might be the worst and best in one gig!!

5. Do you think that the Internet (whether it be Internet radio, legal downloading, MySpace, streaming audio, etc.) is a good tool for musicians or is it a bad thing because it hinders profits?
-- We think the Internet is the coolest thing to come along ever! It is the greatest tool for "leveling the playing field. Everybody can express themselves and be heard worlwide. What could be bad about that.
