What’s the 4-1-1?

Atomic Rooster was one of those many classic progressive rock groups that managed to make excellent music, but sadly, would be forgotten by time. This is a shame, because the group managed to create excellent, timeless music. The band's sound is one of the finest prog rock sounds of the day. It is very much organ intensive, and implements elements of plenty of other musical genres, including blues and jazz.

This is the group's only album to feature singer/guitarist Nick Graham, and despite what some critics and fans say, I think this guy does his job very well. From straightforward rock to slow, melodic and gloomy stuff, this album covers all the bases. It definitely stands as one of my favorite progressive rock records. To make things even better, most reissued versions include rare bonus tracks! There's really nothing wrong with this album. I honestly fail to see anything wrong with Nick Graham. Admittingly, he's not the best guitarist/vocalist the band ever had, but he's no slouch either.

The Verdict
This is one of the best progressive rock albums ever released. It's just a shame it's so underrated. If you're a fan of progressive rock, don't make the mistake so many others have made of overlooking this album!

Did You Know?
Prior to Atomic Rooster, Vincent Crane and Carl Palmer played together in the Crazy World of Arthur Brown. Carl Palmer went onto play in Emerson Lake And Palmer and Asia. Vincent Crane committed suicide in 1989.
